Synopsis:
Director Yonghi Yang’s previous piece, “Dear Pyeong Yang”, has told of North Korean tales. This time, he brings in “Sun-hwa”, the sister of a brother who migrated to North Korean from Japan in the beginning of the 1970s. Through “Sun-hwa”, it shows the images of the immigrant generation as well as the generation that was born and raised in
North Korea. Although ‘Sun-hwa’s growth stages are very typical, the specialty of the North Korean society is quietly shown. Through the process of establishing her identity in the North Korean society as an immigrant generation, North Korea isn’t portrayed as simply an unsociable society but as an area on earth which hold the universal image of the human society. This may be said to be producer “Yang”s special merit. The picture of family gives a normal everyday life view of the known-to-be different name, North Korea.

Synopsis
The tears, the blood and ruins of the war left a big weight on Koreans' shoulders, one which was reflected on the many difficulties the country went through during those years. Yet, it was one of the most prolific artistic periods the country ever went through, especially in its cultural center Myeongdong, Seoul. All the trends started there, from that parade of feebly lit streets, the fog-like cigarette smoke and the sound of that decade enveloping the whole district. "The Count of Myeongdong" is not your average drama with a normal story, a beginning and a conclusion, a few characters dominating it. It's more of a docu-drama, a love letter to the Myeongdong that shone between 1953 and 1960. All the coffee shops, the theaters, the publishing companies and even television stations, and all the stars making Myeongdong great. Poets, novelists, musicians, journalists, and their romantic, tragic and crazy lives.

Taxi Blues [K-Movie]

Synopsis:
In Seoul, there are 70 thousand taxies including 20 thousand corporate taxies and 40 thousand private taxies threading across the city. In most cases, a taxi driver works 12 hour shifts and must complete 20 to 30 trips a day in order to take home the smallest of earnings after paying 80 to 100 dollars to the taxi company.
